The General Upload App

Upload/Download of files between the member U3A and MyU3A
Upload the relevant file to your server account: u3axx (xx is the 2-character code for your U3A) at myu3a.net using SCP (macs and linux) or using the SCP option in winscp (windows). The password for this account may be obtained from the Support Manager.
Merit Scores If the U3A uses enrolment priorities to determine when different member groups can enrol for classes, and uses a Merit Score to determine the priority there needs to be a means of specifying members' merit score. Uploading the scores via the Scores button of the General Upload app achieves this.
The csv file comprises a header line, recommended to contain 2 fields, MemId and Merit Score, and a line for each merit score comprising member Id and merit score.
The Merit Scores csv file name must not contain spaces.
Badges This "Quick Emailer" is mainly used by Office Volunteers to email students when a class is cancelled or when a tutor wishes to circluate information to the students. It can also be used to circulate information to tutors. Individual emails are sent to each person - no ccs and bccs to attract the attention of spammers. The mail list is derived directly from the database so it's always right up to date. The Office receives a result email showing who received the email and who needs to be phoned with the phone numbers.
Passwords The Office Manager and Support Team members can allocate passwords to members and empower them to access the system. At the same time an authority level is set which determines which functions each person may access.
